At Kingsteignton United Reformed Church, we believe that every stage of life is a gift from God and that some moments deserve special care, prayer, and celebration.
Whether you’re welcoming a new life, making lifelong promises, or saying goodbye to someone you love, we’re here to walk alongside you with compassion and faith.
Baptisms and Thanksgivings
Baptisms (sometimes called “christening”) are joyful celebrations of belonging, visible signs of God’s love and grace.
As a church in the United Reformed Church tradition, we baptise both children and adults, and we also offer services of thanksgiving or blessing for those who prefer to mark the occasion without baptism itself.
Our minister will be happy to talk through what each service means and help you choose what feels right for your family.
No matter your background or level of faith, you and your loved ones are welcome here.
Weddings and Blessings
If you’re planning a wedding, we would be delighted to help you celebrate your special day.
As part of the United Reformed Church, we are honoured to have voted to conduct weddings for both opposite-sex and same-sex couples. We believe that love, in all its diversity and beauty, reflects something of the heart of God.
Our minister will work with you to create a ceremony that is personal, meaningful, and rooted in love and commitment. If you have already had a civil ceremony, we can also offer a service of blessing to celebrate your marriage within the context of faith.
Funerals and Services of Thanksgiving
When someone you love dies, it can be hard to know where to turn.
We are here to offer support, prayer, and space to remember and give thanks.
With Kingsteignton URC, funerals and services of thanksgiving can take place in the church, at a crematorium, or another suitable location. Each service is crafted with care, reflecting the life, faith, and individuality of the person being remembered.
You do not need to be a member of the church to have a funeral or thanksgiving service here. Our minister will work closely with you and your chosen funeral director to ensure everything is handled with dignity and sensitivity.
