Growing together in faith, curiosity, and care
At Kingsteignton United Reformed Church, we believe that children and young people are not just the future of the church, they are part of who we are right now.
We’re in a season of rebuilding and reimagining what it means to nurture faith across generations. Our congregation is small but full of warmth and creativity, and we’re always looking for new ways to welcome and include children, young people, and families in our shared life.
If you have ideas, energy, or simply a heart for community, we’d love for you to be part of shaping what comes next.
Sunday Worship
Children are always welcome in our Sunday services. We love a bit of joyful noise and movement as a sign of life and community! Along with regular seating, we arrange a table (or two) at the back where children and families are welcome to sit for more comfort and flexibility.
While we don’t have a separate children’s group at this time, we offer simple materials and crafts that connect with the broader faith or the day’s theme. Children are invited to stay in worship with their families and take part in ways that feel comfortable for them.
All-Age Services
We hold special All-Age Worship services, particularly around festivals of the church calendar (Christmas, Easter, etc).
These services are creative, interactive, and joyful, often including music, storytelling, and prayer that speak to all ages.
Themes have included Christmas in July, Boat Race Saturday, and our annual Carols by Candlelight Service. Celebrations like these remind us of God’s love for all creatures and people.
Looking Ahead
We know there’s room to grow, and we’re committed to doing just that. Whether it’s through family-friendly events, partnerships with local groups, or new ideas yet to be dreamed up, we’re open to discovering how God might be calling us to nurture the next generation.
If you’d like to be part of that journey, come along one Sunday or get in touch through our Contact Page.
Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of children and young people are vitally important to us. Kingsteignton URC follows the URC’s national safeguarding policy, and all leaders and volunteers working with children are DBS checked.
