One church of many gatherings: rooted in love, growing in faith
Kingsteignton United Reformed Church is a small but loving congregation with a big heart for our community. We’re a people of faith who believe that everyone—without exception—is made in the image of God and loved beyond measure.
Our overarching dream is simple: to be a Christ-centred, inclusive place of peace, where people can come as they are and find a sense of belonging. We’re one church of many gatherings, exploring what it means to follow Jesus in a changing world.
Our Story
The story of Kingsteignton URC is one of faith, resilience, and community. Our chapel has long stood as a place of welcome and worship in the heart of Kingsteignton. Over the years, the congregation has changed and grown in new ways — but our calling remains the same: to love God, love our neighbours, and serve our community.
Today, we continue to live out that calling through worship, hospitality, and acts of service that make a difference close to home and beyond.
A Church for Today
We recognise that the world is changing as are the ways people connect with faith. That’s why we’re exploring new forms of gathering alongside our traditional Sunday worship. From our Come As You Are Café and Sacred Sites Group to our Faith and Film Club and community events, we’re discovering new ways to be church together.
At Kingsteignton URC, faith isn’t just something we talk about on Sundays, it’s something we do our best to live out every day, in friendship, compassion, and care for our town.
We have also embarked on a journey with our buildings, letting go of “The Old Chapel” in June 2025, to move fully into a more modern space in what used to be just a church hall. We are currently undergoing a feasibility study to transform our building to be of better use for the community and the church.

What We Value
Save The We strive to be a safe place to explore faith without judgement. In other words: we want to be a church where curiosity is welcomed, questions are encouraged, and diversity is celebrated.
As a Fair Trade Church and an Eco Church Bronze Award winner, we’re committed to living responsibly and justly in God’s world. Our faith in action extends through our partnerships and outreach, from supporting local charities to standing alongside global causes for peace and justice.
You’ll often find our members volunteering, fundraising, or working alongside friends from St Michael’s Church of England, Kingsteignton Community Baptist Church (KCBC), and the Kingsteignton Town Council, as well as supporting charities like Children In Need, Christian Aid, Macmillan Cancer Support, Rowcroft Hospice, Save The Children, The Leprosy Mission, and the British Red Cross.
Memorial Garden
Behind the chapel, you’ll find our Memorial Garden. This is a quiet, sacred space for remembrance and reflection. It’s a place where we have honoured loved ones who have gone before us and where anyone is welcome to pause, sit, and pray.
Many find comfort in this peaceful corner of our grounds, surrounded by flowers, rocks, eco-friendly touches, and birdsong. Whether you come to remember someone dear, or simply to rest in stillness, the garden is open to all as a place of peace and presence in the heart of Kingsteignton.
Our Invitation
Whether you’ve been part of church life for years or are simply curious about faith, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
We may be small in number, but our love and hope are large. We believe that with God in the mix, even the smallest seeds can grow into something extraordinary.
